Well, did you think I had fallen off the face of the earth and forgot to wish you all a very happy, painty, inky and artful…
You are almost right! After floods, power outages, ice storms, more power outages, Christmas plan changes, funerals, and finally succumbing to that nasty little bug that is going around, I have been a bit awol and completely missed New Years this time around!
Now grab a cuppa somethin’ – tea, coffee or you may want to settle in with something a bit stronger as I have to make up for some lost time with this longish, “value” packed note! I have tons to share with you. Make sure you get to the bottom LOL!!!!!
So, now I am back and I would like to say a huge thank you to all of you who supported our little Hive during 2013. We thank you for bringing your business to Bizzy B’s and understanding the “value” of an independent store. We need you to return in 2014 and tell all your artsy/crafty friends about us more than ever!
Now, stick with me folks, as the following may be a tad long but I think it is very important for us to think about.
We understand that everybody shops everywhere and that we certainly can’t carry every product out there but after some reflection on the past few years and with the news that all Archiver stores are closing down in the U.S.A. I think this is a good time to remind everybody about some of the benefits of shopping local and independent as we head into a new year.
Sometimes in the rush to get everything for the lowest price we forget about the word “value”. It gets pushed aside and lost, which is particularly difficult for small stores in any industry. So here are just a few thought joggers on how we see Bizzy B’s to be of “value” to you, the consumer.
Sometimes the big box stores are cheaper (but not always) and sometimes it just seems easier to shop online, but frequently shipping costs/time, product availability or even being able to contact a live person if there is a problem are often forgotten. The “value” of having a brick and mortar store like Bizzy B’s is that we always try and keep the prices competitive, the product is right in store for you to touch and see, and you get to take it right home with you to start playing with. There is always a live person in the store (well unless I am there with a bad cold and then that’s debatable LOL) for at least 68 hours a week to answer any questions you may have! When we are not in the store we are always available by email or voicemail with a quick reply. We are also available to take special orders for you – try asking the big box stores to order a specific product in just for you. So if you don’t see it on the shelf we will be glad to go the extra mile and order it for you.
Another “value” for us is our very generous and knowledgeable staff. They are always at the ready to answer product questions even if the product has been purchased elsewhere. I would love a dollar for every time somebody has bought a product in a big box store and brought it to us for ideas on how to use it! We do it gladly. We want to educate everybody so your products do not sit wasted on a shelf somewhere deep in your studio – you know who you are – LOL!
As I have probably ranted your ear off this early in the year I would like to also remind everybody of the “value” of our classes / demos / crops / play days (of which you are going to see a lot more of this year). They bring a wealth of inspiration, knowledge and camaraderie with others of like passion for arts and crafts.
The department of customer happiness and joy is always forefront at Bizzy B’s and we hope you can make some time in your very Bizzy schedules to join us for all the fun and frivolity art can bring by joining us at our many events, classes and play days throughout 2014. We love having you visit. Well, shopping is good too LOL!
Ok, so now you have endured that part of the blurb (or you just skipped down to here) we have tons of exciting schtuff in store for you this year. I am sooooooo excited.
Our calendar is stuffed to the hilt with our usual awesome classes but we have added a ton of play dates to the schedule too. It all starts this weekend with Stamping 101 and ATC playday!
We are starting to put more things on the weekends as I have listened to many of you who just can’t get out to our evening events! So are you ready for our amazing start to the year?
We have classes in stamping, card-making, quilling, shrink art, dressing paper dolls, Valentine’s / hearts and more (see our calendar of events). Then we have play days which are a wonderful informal and FREE time to gather with others to play in your art journals, make ATC’s (artist trading cards), scrapbook, or work on your project life books. Just bring out your projects and PLAY, PLAY, PLAY. We also have Christmas Club – yes, I said it and we need to get on it NOW! It’s going to be sooooooo much fun.
Please just give us a shout to let us know you are attending so we have space for you. If that isn’t enough for you, we also have our Stamp of the Month demo, Stay and Play day and our “Bring on 2014 Bash” / Crop. OMG we also have our Journal Junkie and ATC evenings. These are great groups to join and this month we are kicking off our New Year with Pot Luck suppers to boot! We have kicked these groups up a notch this year. These are all a great way to spend a few hours away from the hustle and bustle of every day life to spend some quality time with your (and others’) creativity. We truly hope you will join us!
But wait, there’s more!!!!!! Is that possible? Oh yes it is!
